Dr. Beth Pettitt is the Chief for the Medical Modeling and Simulation (MMS) Branch at the Army’s Simulation and Training Technology Center. Her Team is leading the way in researching, developing and transitioning medical simulation technologies. Dr. Pettitt is actively involved in pushing research frontiers, test and evaluation, and transitioning relevant technologies quickly, as well as managing the cost, schedule and performance of the multi-million dollar research efforts in her Branch.
Dr. Pettitt has a BS in Mechanical Engineering. She holds a Master of Business Administration degree from Webster University and a PhD in Modeling and Simulation from the University of Central Florida. She is also Program Management Level III certified through the Defense Acquisition University and is part of the Acquisition Corps.
Dr. Pettitt has been applying creative innovations to medical simulation and training technology requirements for over 25 years. Her current research is focused on analyzing and applying the correct level of fidelity according to the level of medical care.
