Michael J. Heiferman, MD, MBA, is an Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology at the Illinois Eye and Ear Infirmary at the University of Illinois Chicago. He is a vitreoretinal surgeon and ocular oncologist with interests in translational cancer research and retinal imaging. Dr. Heiferman currently serves as Co-Director of the Vitreoretinal Surgery Fellowship and Associate Residency Program Director at the University of Illinois Chicago. He leads an NIH- and DOD-funded research laboratory studying on intraocular tumors using advanced imaging technique.
