Ryan Tan is a young professional specializing in nuclear security science and policy with interests in radiation detection, health physics, emergency management, and international nuclear policy. His nuclear engineering PhD work at the University of Tennessee-Knoxville is in developing perovskites as low-cost semiconductor radiation detectors for nuclear security. He is also pursuing a political science master's degree with a focus in international relations, and both degrees will be completed by June 2022. Ryan currently on fellowship as a national security analyst within the NNSA NA-84 Office of Nuclear Incident Response-Consequence Management.
