Biography

Dr. Jungsook Clara Wren is a full Professor in the Chemistry Department, Western University, Canada. She has held the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council (NSERC) Industrial Research Chair since 2005. Her research is in the field of non-linear dynamics of materials degradation in presence of a continuous flux of -radiation. Her research topics include radiation-induced corrosion of metals and alloys, radiation-assisted nanoparticle synthesis, methodologies for radioactive waste encapsulation using geopolymers, and laser cleaning of contaminated metallic wastes. Her work is critical in supporting the nuclear industry in the areas of safety and licensing, waste management, and decontamination and decommissioning.
