Biography

Hrishikesh Kamat earned his B.S. in Chemical Engineering (2011) from the National Institute of Technology, Srinagar, India, and an M.S. in Materials Science and Engineering (2016) at Alfred University. Since 2017, he is a Ph.D. student in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, where his research is focused on understanding the compositional and structural drivers governing the solubility of molybdenum, rare-earths, and noble metals in high-level nuclear waste glasses. Previously, he was a process engineer and a summer intern for optical fiber development at Sterlite Technologies Ltd., India, and Corning Incorporated, USA, respectively.
