Biography

Dr. Muhammad Shafiqul Alam is a professional water engineer and engineering hydrologist with over 12 years of research experience in hydrological and hydraulic modeling within Australia and USA. He is currently working as a Senior Research Scientist at the Applied Research Centre in Florida International University. He is leading the hydrology modeling team pursuing research activities on soil and groundwater remediation programs for Savanna River Sites and Waste Isolation Pilot Plant sites collaborating with DOE-EM. His major strengths include urban and rural flood modeling and management, climate change and land use change impacts modeling, groundwater and surface water interactions modeling, catchment run-off modeling and management.
