Biography

Thomas Braunroth is an expert in the field of decommissioning and works for the non-profit organization GRS (Germany), that carries out research in its fields of competence. His daily work focuses on regulatory and technical aspects related to the decommissioning of nuclear facilities in Germany. He graduated in 2017 from the University of Cologne (Germany) with a doctoral degree in experimental physics for which he investigated nuclear level lifetimes in exotic nuclei. Before joining the GRS, he was a scientist at the National Metrology Institute of Germany (PTB) and worked on questions at the interface of hadrontherapy and nuclear physics.
