Biography

Mr. Carlsen 30+ years experience in the nuclear industry include HLLW processing, spent fuel storage, systems modelling and decision support, repository planning and analysis, and evaluation of advanced fuel cycles. He has served as on IAEA consultant on the topics of damaged fuel, interfaces in the back-end of the nuclear fuel cycle, and very long-term storage of spent nuclear fuel. He currently supports the US Department of Energy with planning and strategies for the management and disposition of DOE fuels and also supports the World Nuclear Association Working Group on Sustainable Management of Used Nuclear Fuel.
