Biography

Over 35 of Dan's 40 years at Savannah River Site have been associated with DWPF. He worked on development of the DWPF Melter and HLW glass in Graduate School at the New York State College of Ceramics (Alfred University), at Savannah River Laboratory and at the DWPF pilot facility. He has been a member of DWPF Engineering since before DWPF startup and has participated in startup and operation of every DWPF Melter. Dan is the subject matter expert for DWPF vitrification. He has been a key contributor to several DWPF initiatives including the Melter pour spout insert, telerobotic manipulator, Melter bubblers, and the canister double-stack project.
