Biography

Hitesh Nigam has worked for the Federal Government for over 30 years. He joined the Department of Energy in 1991 and is currently serving as an Acting Office Director for the Office of Nuclear Materials, ensuring safe and effective management of spent nuclear fuel and nuclear materials. In this capacity, he is responsible for providing engineering and scientific advice, guidance, and lessons learned to DOE Headquarters Programs and Field Offices to ensure a national approach concerning safe, compliant, and cost-effective storage, treatment, packaging, and disposition of spent nuclear fuel and nuclear materials.
