Dr Mariappan is an independent research faculty at the L V Prasad Eye Institute, Hyderabad since May 2008. Her lab has been exploring the applications of pluripotent stem cells to generate retinal and corneal organoid models to study various ocular pathologies and for developing iPSC-based cell therapies for treating certain inherited eye disorders.
