Biography

I am the Shelley and Steven Einhorn Professor of Ophthalmology and Site Chair in the Department of Ophthalmology at Mount Sinai Hospital in NYC. I also direct the Eye and Vision Research Institute at the New York Eye and Ear Infirmary of Mount Sinai. I am a member of the International Glaucoma Genetics Consortium, the Glaucoma Research Society, a former Chair of the American Glaucoma Society Research Committee, a former member of the National Advisory Eye Council at the National Eye Institute, and a past Vice President of ARVO. Additionally, I serve as Chair of the Medical Advisory Board for The Glaucoma Foundation in New York City, an organization dedicated to developing innovative solutions to prevent glaucoma blindness. My team at Mount Sinai, where BioMe is based, seamlessly collaborates with investigators worldwide to create a multi-omic framework for glaucoma where we work to uncover resilience biomarkers that mitigate genetic predisposition to the disease.
