Merced County Office of Education
As a Los Angeles native, my passion for education led me to venture out to the Central Valley to attend UC Merced. It was then that I obtained my teaching credential and began working with immigrant, asylum-seeking, and refugee students in Modesto, California. I quickly discovered a deep-rooted passion for advocating for these students and their educational rights. This led me to support English Language Learners and promote inclusive learning environments. In conjunction as a Teach Plus Fellow and an Emergent Bilingual Change Agent, I was able to expand my advocacy skills and join a community of educators committed to promoting educational equity.
Currently I am an ELA/ELD Coordinator at Merced County Office of Education. I provide support for schools and districts to create engaging learning experiences in the Dual Language Immersion and Structured English Instruction settings . From crafting action plans that hit state standards to developing special projects that promote student learning, achievement, and engagement.
In my pursuit of advancing advocacy efforts for English Language Learners, I am actively involved in various programs and advocacy groups such as Californians Together: ELLI and VELA. Through continuous education and engagement, I strive to make a positive impact in the lives of my students and community.
