Biography

Persisting on with her 4th year of teaching service in the Texas-México border, she proudly teaches 5th grade GT Dual Language at PSJA ISD. She received her Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Studies in both Bilingual Education and Mexican American Studies from The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley, and is currently pursuing her M.Ed in Educational Leadership and Administration. Carolina received the NABE Student of the Year award in 2019. As a life-long English Language learner and immigrant, she advocates with and for students and families para abrir caminos and amplify their voices. She has the privilege to serve as the NABE Student Awards Committee Chair and expand her passion in leveraging our bilingual, biliterate, and bicultural superpowers.
