Biography

Cloris Paulette Rangel is a passionate educator and relentless advocate for multilingual students. With experience as a Bilingual teacher, language and curriculum specialist, instructional supervisor, academic coordinator, independent consultant, director of dual language programs, and executive director of multilingual programming, Cloris’ knowledge of bilingual education, practices, program implementation, research, and trends are both immense and impressive. She is the Executive Director of Multilingual Programs PK-12 in Richardson ISD. She received her Bachelor of Science from Texas Woman’s University. Cloris continued her education at Southern Methodist University, receiving her Master of Bilingual Education specializing in Gifted and Talented Education, and earned her administrative certification from the University of Texas at Arlington. She is an Ed.D. candidate at SMU. Cloris is married to her high school sweetheart and is a mother of two young boys, ages 14 and 9, whom she is raising to be bilingual and biliterate. She mentors young girls as part of the Hispanic Women's Network of Texas Latinas in Progress program. She has served as vice president and professional development chair on the Texas Association of Bilingual Education board, treasurer and member of the Association of Hispanic School Administrators, and past president of the Bilingual Education Association of the Metroplex.
