Biography

Sonya Johnson is the Director of Public Affairs and Stakeholder Management for UCOR. With more than 30 years of experience as a U.S. Department of Energy contractor, she has developed and managed Strategic Communications and Public Involvement programs at the Savannah River Site, Aiken, S.C.; the East Tennessee Technology Park, Oak Ridge, Tenn.; the Yucca Mountain Project, Las Vegas, NV; and the Hanford Site, Richland, WA. Sonya spent the early part of her career as a newspaper reporter and in public relations in the non-profit sector. A native of Pittsburgh, PA, Sonya has a Bachelor’s of Arts Degree in Journalism from Carlow University.
