Biography

During his 44-year nuclear career Mr. Porter worked for large corporations doing nuclear plant startup and testing, overhauls, and D&D. Since founding his own engineering company in the ‘90’s he has primarily worked in the nuclear waste arena. Prior to his most recent work supporting the commissioning of a steam reforming process for treating nuclear waste in Idaho, he spent 3+ years in China as the Lead Mechanical Commissioning Engineer for two AP1000 nuclear power plants. He is currently supporting several projects at the INL, including IWTU, calcine disposition, and the Navy Core Car Project. Through Blue Ocean Repositories, LLC, he has worked on resurrecting sub-seabed disposal of nuclear waste.
