Applied Research Center - FIU
Yelena Katsenovich interests comprise of physical, chemical, and biological processes that govern environmental remediation and natural attenuation of groundwater and soil impacted by organic and inorganic compounds, environmental aqueous geochemistry, and the microbial effect on the fate and transport of contaminants. This research provides a scientific basis for the soil and groundwater remediation efforts and advances understanding of the fate and transport of organic and inorganic contaminants including radionuclides in the environment. She is leading Water &Environmental Group of Florida International University’s Applied Research Center (ARC) and is responsible for the development and evaluation of innovative techniques in DOE grant projects.
