Dr. Johnson obtained his BS in Civil Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin in 1992, and a PhD in Civil Engineering from the University of Minnesota in 1997. He is currently a Professor of Environmental Engineering at the University of Texas at San Antonio. His principal fields of research interest and experience are related to inter-facial heat and mass transfer. In a practical sense, this translates into studies of membrane processes for water purification for separations of solids and dissolved constituents from water; and/or phase changes of water for either water distillation or evaporative water cooling. Water and contaminant transfer within soils is also
