Sean joined BNFL R&T in 1997, supporting waste treatment plants and future business opportunities, including 1.5yrs in the USA working on the Hanford vitrification project, before taking off 6yrs to travel the world, working as a diving instructing, tour guide and barman. Returning to the industry, he has undertaken many nuclear waste processing and management roles including leading national and corporate coordination and research groups for radioactive waste treatment, packaging and storage. He has accrued extensive knowledge of Magnox sludge and the ion exchange material clinoptilolite, which has been converted into a review of Sellafield’s 50yrs experience dealing with these materials. Sean is currently a Fellow of IoM3 and principle consultant.
