Biography

Dr. Gong’s research interest include inter-discipline fields of materials science, the earth science and environmental sciences with primary focuses on solidification and stabilization of hazardous and radioactive waste streams as well as sustainable utilization of industrial wastes to develop low carbon construction materials. Dr. Gong has been actively working in research and development of a range of sustainable, green geopolymer materials by closely working with industrial partners. Examples of such materials include high performance polymer modified concrete, 100% fly ash concrete, ultralight geopolymer concrete, pumpable geopolymer for well sealing application and ternary geopolymer concrete
