Luca BRUNO studied nuclear engineering at the University of Palermo (Italy). After graduating he moved to Germany, to work for the nuclear fusion project ITER, and then to Switzerland, where he is active in the field of particle accelerator engineering since 1998. He is currently project leader of the new radioactive waste treatment and interim storage center of CERN, the European organization for nuclear research. Among his publications, the following article is relevant for the symposium: In-toto non-destructive assay methodology for the elimination of metallic waste from particle accelerators after melting, Applied Radiation and Isotopes 201 (2023).
