Biography

Steven Vitto, SNF and HLW Program Manager within the DOE-EM Office of Nuclear Materials, has over 15 years of combined experience with nuclear reactors and materials. Currently he develops and implements strategic plans for the DOE-EM nuclear materials program and DOE-managed spent nuclear fuel. Prior to joining DOE-EM HQ, Steve worked for the Nuclear Regulatory Commission as a Reactor Security Program Manager in the Division of Physical and Cyber Security Policy. Prior to work at the NRC, Steve was a Shift Refueling Engineer at Norfolk Naval Shipyard. Steve has a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from the University of Virginia.
