Biography

Philipp Herold studied mining engineering at Technical University Bergakademie Freiberg (Germany). He graduated in 2011 as mining engineer (M.Sc.). As part of his diploma thesis, he started working in the field of shaft sealing. Upon graduation, Philipp Herold started working as project engineer in the Research and Development Department of DBE TECHNOLOGY GmbH in Peine (Germany), now BGE TECHNOLOGY GmbH. Since 2022 he is the head of the department Repository Technologies within BGE TECHNOLOGY GmbH. Currently he is also the Chair of the OECD NEA Expert Group on Operational Safety (EGOS).
