Biography

Dr. Emily Stein is a Senior Advisor in the Department of Energy's Office of Spent Fuel and Waste Disposition. She is on detail from Sandia National Laboratories, where she was a Research and Development Manager responsible for model and software development for performance assessment of deep geologic repositories and other aspects of DOE's Spent Fuel and Waste Science and Technology Campaign. Throughout her career, she has also supported performance assessment for the Waste Isolation Pilot Plant. Emily has a PhD and MS in Earth Science from the University of California, Santa Cruz and a BA in Geology from Amherst College.
