Biography

Jeffrey McLachlan obtained his Doctorate from Florida International University in 2022, focusing his research on the electro- and photoelectro-chemical manipulation of actinide oxidation states at ligand-modified metal oxide electrodes. He earned the Science Graduate Student Research Program Award, placing him at the Idaho National Laboratory Center for Radiation Chemistry Research where he gained exposure to various steady state and pulsed radiolysis techniques while furthering his understanding of f-element redox chemistry at differing time scales. He is now a Postdoctoral Associate at the University of California Berkeley where he applied these skills to progressing advanced reactor waste management strategies.
