Biography

Bert van Heesch obtained his PhD at Utrecht University on plasma physics and fusion related research. His professional career started in fusion technology (1975-1986: Jutphaas Netherlands, Suchumi former USSR, Saskatoon, Canada). Since 1986 his research focussed on pulsed plasma development and application. Pulsed plasma is the continuos repetition of short duration plasma channels. This tool can be produced in air, water, rock or in a reactor. Applications range from rock fracture to pulsed chemistry. Since 2016 he is active as emeritus assistant professor of the TU/e and as a senior consultant for industry. He is (co-) inventor of 7 patents and is (co-)author of more than 250 international publications.
