Dr. Richard B. Wyrwas, a Fellow Engineer at Savannah River National Laboratory, has lead several high-impact initiatives for the Department of Energy. His expertise extends to operational process control strategy development and deployment. Notably, he directed the corrosion control program at the Hanford Nuclear Reservation and presently collaborates with the Office of Nuclear Energy on Interim Storage for Spent Nuclear Fuel. Dr. Wyrwas earned his Ph.D. in Chemistry from Georgia Institute of Technology in 2004, and holds B.S. degrees in Physics and Chemistry from Clarion University. His military service includes an honorable discharge from the United States Marine Corps Reserves in 2004, where he served as a platoon leader.
