Biography

Serge Vanderperre got a master degree in chemical engineering from the Université Catholique de Louvain in 1989. After his graduation, he worked at the university as a researcher in hydrometallurgy on external funds. From 1991 on, he has occupied several technical and managerial functions within the Nuclear Entity of Tractebel, the Belgian company which is the Architect-Engineer of the Doel and Tihange nuclear power plants. Currently, he is Tractebel's Radiation Protection, Radwaste and Decommissioning Technical Director. Moreover, he represents Tractebel in the ENISS (European Nuclear Installations Safety Standards) Waste & Decommissioning Safety Group and the Permanent Expert Group about radwaste issues of ASN, the French Nuclear Safety Authority.
