Biography

Dr. Almond has over 20 years of experience working with nuclear materials and has contributed to multiple programs at the Savannah River National Laboratory, including spent nuclear fuel processing, neptunium oxide and plutonium oxide production campaigns, 3013 Destructive Examination package surveillance, and the Mobile Plutonium Facility (MPF). He is currently working on nuclear materials management and disposition activities within the Department of Energy complex. Dr. Almond has a background in inorganic chemistry. He has authored over 40 peer-reviewed publications and holds 4 U.S. Patents.
