Michael Gochfeld, MD, PhD is an occupational physician and environmental toxicologist at Rutgers Biomeical & Health Sciences. His research interests focus on risk assessment, management, and communication, particularly for heavy metals and contaminants of emerging concern. He studies the impact of environmental contamination on public health and future use of former industrial lands. He is a member of the Center for Environmental Exposure and Disease at Rutgers, and a participant in the Consortium for Risk Evaluation with Stakeholder Participation that conducts research for the U.S. Department of Energy and its stakeholders, on remediation and future land use.
