Biography

Nicolas Huerta is a research scientist with the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory. Dr. Huerta has over a decade of experience in the geologic sciences and petroleum engineering. Specifically, he works in the areas of subsurface reactive transport simulation, risk assessment in geologic carbon storage, materials performance in harsh environments, well integrity, and more recently in environmental remediation. Dr. Huerta’s approach combines laboratory experiments and numerical modeling to address real-world challenges and develop novel solutions to our nation’s energy and environment needs.
