The focus of Dr. Szecsody’s research is development of subsurface remediation technologies. He has conducted research studies quantifying geochemical and microbial mechanisms that occur in porous media during advective transport at different laboratory and field scales. Compounds investigated include metals/radionuclides (Sr, U, Cs, Co, Tc, Cr, energetics (RDX, TNT, HMX, CL-20, NDMA), and chlorinated solvents (TCE, PCE, DCE, VC).
