Biography

Dr. Alex Barzilov is a Professor in Department of Mechanical Engineering of University of Nevada, Las Vegas. He received Ph.D. degree in Nuclear Engineering in 1997 at IPPE and M.S. degree in Nuclear Engineering at Institute of Nuclear Power Engineering. His research interests and teaching activities are in nuclear engineering and mechanical engineering. He has experience in radiation detection, remote sensing using robotics platforms, waste management, and reactor physics. He is a member of the American Nuclear Society and Chair of the Radiation Protection and Shielding Division.
