Shannon Thompson is an advisor in risk and environmental assessment. His core competencies are health physics, systems engineering, surveys and sampling, radiochemistry, models for dose & risk assessment and environmental transport. He likes strategic approaches to projects, managing scientists and engineers, and working toward positive outcomes with clients and stakeholders. Shannon rejoined PNNL in 2021. He has worked with DOE, National Laboratories, NRC, HydroGeoLogic, EPA at Santa Susana Field Laboratory, Westinghouse, and Savannah River Ecology Laboratory. He gained his Environmental Health Physics PhD from Clemson, M.S. in Oceanography from U. of South Florida, and B.S. from Marshall University.
