Dr. Kevin Connolly supports the Transportation Security, Engineering, and Analysis Group at Oak Ridge National Laboratory where he works on issues related to the transportation of spent nuclear fuel and high level radioactive waste, including development of methods for estimating public radiation dose from spent fuel transportation, analysis of potential transportation routes, and study of the transportation infrastructure and equipment needs at shutdown commercial nuclear power plant sites. He is a 2009 fellow of the US Department of Energy’s Nuclear Energy University Program and graduated with his Ph.D. in nuclear and radiological engineering from Georgia Tech in 2012.
