Biography

A physicist with almost a decade of experience working within the nuclear decommissioning industry, currently the team leader for the Radiometric team at the Dounreay site in Scotland. Manages a multidisciplinary team of characterisation specialists responsible for delivering the Non-Destructive Assay measurement services and characterisation advice site wide, including the development and management of radionuclide fingerprints. Supporting our stakeholders, internal and external, to achieve their decommissioning goals while remaining compliant with environmental and safeguards legislation. Personal specialties include non-destructive assay of fissile bearing materials for nuclear safeguards and characterisation of radioactive waste using a multitude of techniques including; Neutron coincidence counting (both passive and active), gamma spectroscopy, and gamma imaging.
