Biography

Until its successful completion in 2023, Dirk was the reactor vessel and internals project engineering manager for the Crystal River 3 decommissioning project. He joined Orano in 2019 after being for two years the RV/RVI segmentation manager at SONGS in Southern California. Together with Siempelkamp he successfully segmented the two Zion reactor vessels in 2017. Dirk started his nuclear career 22 years ago as the nuclear core designer for the Biblis nuclear power plant in Germany until its shut down in 2011, then actively working on the decommissioning planning and the successful primary system chemical decontamination of Biblis.
