Biography

Mr. Michael A. Epps Sr. is currently the Office of Science Accelerator Safety Program Manager (ASPM) in the Office of Safety and Security (SC-OSS-SAF). Michael serves as the Department’s lead for the Accelerator Safety Program including all accelerator safety directives, accelerator safety oversight, and support for SC/DOE Accelerator Research Facilities. Previously Mr. Epps served as the Federal Project Director (FPD) for the $338M 12 GeV CEBAF Upgrade Project at Jefferson Lab (JLAB). Michael also served as Program Manager for the Accelerator Operations and Experimental Nuclear Physics Program. Michael has a B.S. in Physics from Norfolk State University and is a Certified Level 3 Federal Project Director.
