Biography

Melanie is Technology and Innovation Director at the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority (NDA) and has held technology leadership roles in the UK nuclear industry for 28 years. She is a Non-Executive Director for Nuclear Waste Services and a visiting Professor at the University of Leeds. Melanie was an International Advisor to the International Research Institute for Nuclear Decommissioning (IRID) in Japan. Melanie is a Member of the UKAEA Programme Advisory Committee and the UK Fusion Technical Advisory Group. In recognition of her leadership and commitment to flexible working, Melanie was the UK Women in Nuclear Champion of the Year in 2020.
