Dr. Echeverria works at Florida International University and has more than 10 years of experience in the field of materials engineering, corrosion and protection and has worked in recognized research groups in United States, Spain and Cuba. Her research interests include corrosion of infrastructures, concrete degradation, coatings, alloys, composites, etc. She currently investigates potential coatings to mitigate and prevent further degradation of the H-Canyon Exhaust Tunnel concrete walls at Savannah River site. She also investigates the durability and corrosion mechanisms of container materials that may be used to contain glass and grout waste forms to be disposed of at the Hanford Integrated Disposal Facility.
