Luke earned his Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering at the University of Washington in Seattle. As a research scientist at PNNL in the Experimental and Computational Engineering Group under the Energy and Environment directorate, he contributes to many projects that drive the Hanford cleanup strategy forward. His expertise revolves around interfacial systems, particle stability, and process kinetics, to name a few. At PNNL, Luke is leveraging his skills in interfacial phenomena by taking an intense interest in the adsorption kinetics of harmful gases such as Mercury and Iodine and developing a more profound knowledge of PUREX separation processes.
