Xuehang Song is an Earth scientist with expertise in groundwater flow and transport modeling, data assimilation, high-performance computing, and geostatistics. Since joining PNNL in 2015, he has developed reactive transport models to investigate surface water–groundwater interactions, applied Bayesian data assimilation and geostatistics to characterize aquifer properties, and evaluated contaminant transport at the Hanford Site using combination of field data and model simulations. Dr. Song's research focuses on advancing innovative model- and data-integration methods to enhance subsurface characterization, enabling more accurate predictions, assessments, and the design and operation of environmental processes.
