Biography

Dr. Philip (Phil) Schonewill is a Senior Chemical Engineer and Team Lead of the Experimental Fluids Engineering team, a part of the Experimental & Computational Engineering Group at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory. Since joining PNNL in 2008, Dr. Schonewill has investigated several nuclear waste treatment technologies via experimentation (both bench-scale and pilot-scale) and modeling, with special focus on problems of multi-phase flow, transport phenomena, and particle-fluid interactions. For the past several years, he has led work to collect data on unit operations performance and safety analyses in support of the Direct Feed Low-Activity Waste mission.
