Biography

1) Native German, graduated from Frankfurt University with a diploma and Ph.D. degree in physics. 2) Academic career in Germany and the UK in neutron physics, neutron spallation sources & instrumentation. 3) 2004 - 2018 head of German product quality control office for high-level radioactive waste at Research Centre Julich. 4) In this position supervising the German spent fuel reprocessing and waste conditioning program in La Hague, France, and Sellafield, UK, and Karlsruhe, Germany. 5) German government authorities advisor for the safe disposal of radioactive waste. 6) 2017 - 2019 Scientific/technical director of the European CHANCE project. 7) since May 2019 Radioactive Waste Manager of the European Spallation Source, Sweden
