Biography

Gary L. Smith works with the Materials Science Technical Team whose research areas include waste form science, non-oxide materials development, commercial glass industry support, and glass & ceramics materials development. As Project Manager, he is responsible for execution of key deliverables, staff development, budget management, and risk management. As part of his current portfolio, he is currently supporting the Washington River Protection Solutions LLC ILAW Glass Testing for Disposal at IDF and Cementitious Waste Forms IDF PA Maintenance projects, ensuring that the ILAW glass and cementitious waste forms slated for near-surface land disposal at the Hanford Site Integrated Disposal Facility (IDF) meet all waste acceptance criteria.
