Biography

Dr. Emerson is currently a an Earth Scientist at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory. Her technical area of interest is the chemical fate and transport of contaminants in environmental systems with a focus on the behavior of actinides and radionuclides. She received her B.S. in Environmental Engineering from the University of Central Florida (2009) and M.S. and PhD in Environmental Engineering and Earth Science from Clemson University (2014). The goal of her dissertation was to understand conditions that may lead to colloid facilitated transport of the actinide elements. The novelty of her work is the application of experiments from the micro-scale to the field scale in understanding contaminant mobility and
