Biography

Dr. Mart Oostrom has over three decades of experience in subsurface multiphase simulation, vadose and groundwater remediation, and laboratory flow and transport experimentation. Some of his recent experience includes development of conceptual site models and quantifying contaminant flux into groundwater at various deep vadose-zone waste disposal sites at the Hanford Site, reservoir modeling for enhanced oil recovery, CO2 sequestration. He is the co-author of the STOMP (Subsurface Flow over Multiple Phases) simulator, a mathematical model used to numerically simulate subsurface (multiphase) flow and transport as well as vadose-zone and groundwater remediation. At INTERA, he is the chief scientist of the Composite Analysis and the Cumulative Impact Evaluation projects.
