Karl Travis is Reader in Computational Physics and Nuclear Waste Disposal at the University of Sheffield. He is the Director of the Immobilisation Science Laboratory and leads the Deep Borehole Disposal Research Group. Karl is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry and has over 25 years of experience in modelling and simulation, with the last 18 related to nuclear waste disposal. Current interests include sealing and support matrices for deep boreholes and developing deep borehole concepts for High Level Waste including Spent Nuclear Fuel.
