Dr. Young Soo Park is a principal mechanical engineer at Argonne National Laboratory, where he leads the robotics and remote systems group. He has over 25 years of R&D experience in robotics and remote systems technology for nuclear applications including nuclear waste management, D&D, nuclear reactor operation and maintenance, and spent fuel recycling processes. He has also contributed key developments in nuclear plant monitoring, diagnosis, control, simulator, and in-service inspection. He is a senior scientist at large of the Consortium for Advanced Science and Engineering (CASE) of University of Chicago, co-chair of IEEE RAS Technical Committee on Robotics for Nuclear Environments, a former chair of ANS Robotics and Remote Systems.
